Our mission, throughout covid-19

After speaking with a few clients over recent months we’ve been saddened to hear that, although understandable, dads, birthing partners and the +1’s haven’t been able to be as involved with the pregnancy journey due to restrictions imposed by the corona virus outbreak. We’ve heard, and seen, upsetting stories of partner’s not being able to join in with scan clinic appointments. We’ve seen phone snaps of siblings meeting their newborn sibling through a glass window, with newborn inside the hospital walls and sibling sitting on the windowsill outside. We’ve chatted with new families about how important it’s been to be able to “join in” at a midwife appointment - to bring piece of mind to everyone involved. I could go on…

As a lucky dad to three beautiful girls I cannot imagine not being allowed to join in on these moments. With our first born, I was able to go to every single midwife appointment and be a part of every single scan (and there were quite a few due to her choosing to be so still a lot of the time!). With our second, I cannot describe the pride I felt in fulfilling my “dad role” of bringing our eldest to meet her new sister for the first time; being able to sit her down and prepare our, then, 21month old on how to hold her 1 day old baby sister. As the partner, you can sometimes feel pushed to one side, as mum and baby’s needs are, so rightly, put first. It got me thinking how covid-19 would emphasise those feelings and both Kirsty and I knew we had to do “something” to create a chance for your family to be able to experience this special time, together.

We got thinking (Kirsty even ordered a take away… This is when I know it’s serious!). We would like to gift all those, who are due a Baby throughout this pandemic, an opportunity to come together through a photoshoot. Whether this is your first baby or you’re like us and going for the trio, we want to offer you an opportunity to celebrate this “Bump” together. With this in mind, we are offering all newborn art experiences a FREE maternity photoshoot with us. Not only this, we’d also like to gift you three 6x8 mounted prints from this maternity experience. We know it won’t replace the time you get watching a screen at the routine scan appointment and we appreciate that we’re not midwives so can’t answer all those questions you may have however what we can give you is time, all together, to celebrate this pregnancy. Due to being the only ones in the building, masks aren’t mandatory and you can wear what you want! We just want to give you a moment where you can be a unit, celebrate this time and have a positive memory for you to all look back on over the years to come.

  “We will have a pre-shoot chat, either by phone or here at our studios. From there, you’ll be able to plan your colour schemes and props to start packing a bag (or suitcase!) full of amazing ideas to suit you, your style and your new family. On the day of your shoot, you and your gorgeous bundle of joy will be welcomed in to the studio as it’s only guest and all of the facilities are at your very own disposal throughout your time with us. Sit back and relax whilst your professional photographer, James, uses his expertise from the years of professional training to make sure that your Baby is handled the safest way possible and in the best light… Quite literally. After your photoshoot, you’ll be invited to, once again, sit back and relax, whilst you view your imagery in our lounge and choose your favourites. Be warned, this may emotional!”

This sounds great, but what’s the cost?

Absolutely nothing. To those who have known us over the last 20 years of photographing, you’ll know we like to do random acts of kindness - and this is one of those acts.

You will receive the following gifts:

• a FREE maternity shoot, at around 32 - 36 weeks pregnant for you, your partner and any of Bump’s siblings who you may wish to include, worth £29

• FREE complimentary 6x8 prints from your maternity shoot with us, worth £398

We do ask for a £30 FULLY REFUNDABLE booking deposit, to secure the appointment as yours, as this stops the no shows happening for us however this is fully refundable after your experience with us. If your little one arrives early (which we have had happen once or twice before!) then we’ll simply refund the £30 deposit for you.

Simply fill in the form below and Kirsty or I will be in touch via phone. It’s important that we know your due date as we only book up to sevennewborns a month, due the pandemic. This is so that we’re able to photograph your newborn within the first ten days of your little one being born but also so that we can ensure that everyone is looked after through the covid-19 and all props and blankets are fully sterilised. With this in mind, we’ll double check our diary and give you a call and have a chat about dates as well as colour schemes and props so you can start packing a bag (or suitcase!) full of amazing ideas to suit you, your style and your new family.
